Mojang and Bethesda trademark dispute settled!

Here's a little background information. You may have heard, earlier this year, Bethesda filed a lawsuit against Mojang for trying to trademark the word "Scrolls" for their upcoming game. Mojang's application to trademark "Scrolls" conflicted with Bethesda's existing trademark "The Elder Scrolls". In Bethesda's defense, they stated that if Mojang managed to trademark "Scrolls", it would be possible for him to sue anyone who uses the word "Scrolls", hence the lawsuit.

Earlier today, Notch announced on Twitter that the trademark dispute has finally been settled after months of arguments. Basically, Bethesda gets the trademark, but Mojang is allowed to keep the name, as long as they don't make an Elder Scrolls competitor game using that name. I guess Bethesda's not in the wrong for trying to protect their franchise, but I still think that this whole thing is kind of silly. At least, no game progress has been compromised by this issue.

Mojam Humble Bundle

Humble Bundle, which is well known for releasing game packs for the price of anything, is teaming up with Mojang, the people who is developing Minecraft, to bring you The Humble Bundle Mojam. This bundle will be created and livestreamed over the weekend and is already ready for pre-ordering. The revenue, as usual, will be going to four charities, they include Child's Play, Electronic Frontier Foundation, Charity: Water, and The American Red Cross.

The genre and theme of the game was decided by poll votes from the community. It has been voted that the game will be a Real Time Strategy, Shoot 'em Up, set in an Ancient Egpyt Steampunk theme. I really wonder how this game will turn out.

Love Legos? Love Minecraft? Then you'll love this news!

Lego Minecraft started off as a proposal on http://lego.cuusoo.com/ initially, but it received so much support from the community that it is now reality. The Lego set will feature a chunk of the world to play it, as well as Steve and a Creeper.
It's pretty cool to see a video game being transformed into a toy, and how the game community has so much influence on what could happen.

This Lego set is already available for sale, and can be pre-ordered for £34.99. If you're looking to preorder it, check it out here!
